That happened on occasion in the past when you didn't specifically write the url for the forum index in and just went to TFS, I think.

Re: SO HOW ABOUT THAT DRAGON BLOODED KICKSTARTER

Probably, but even another 100K would still make Heirs a weighty supplement.  That'd be about five to ten more chunks of 5K words each.  I'm not even sure what would show up as a stretch goal if it actually did reach half a million plus. Also, the chargen stats, the Charms, the anima effects, the re...

Re: SO HOW ABOUT THAT DRAGON BLOODED KICKSTARTER

Looking forward to seeing everyone's work over the next few weeks.  And again, when Heirs to the Shogunate drops.  With the trendline on kicktraq pointing where it is (over 500K), it might end up being the same size as WFHW...

Re: Survivability fix

Armor grade? How would you make them work? Oh! Also, just to clarify; this isn't a persistent effect. If you hit someone at Essence 2 hard enough to fill their -0 and both -1s then you'd only fill their -0, but the second hit would do full damage [unless it would overflow into the -2s, in which cas...

Re: Survivability fix

That's only going to exacerbate the already-outrageous elder problems, which compounds with the whiff-whiff-dead style of 2e.  You'd be better off finding another variable for the damage reduction, preferably something that doesn't make high-Essence combat more uniform than it already is.  Armor gra...

Re: Yozi Theme Contention

B u t I find Szonery soooo boooring. I'm sorry but I do, and I don't know why. He just feels bland to me. :/ Ebby kind of stole everyone's thunder in 2e.  All of the Yozis except him ended up being pretty pathetic, because RotSE presents him as having outwitted everyone, gotten out on his own, and ...

Re: Yozi Theme Contention

See that's the disconnect with me.  If you can boil the Ebon Dragon down to a "person" then it feels like he ceases to be a Yozi and simultaneously removed the point of having Third Circles from the game.  Third Circle Demons are there to both be hilariously powerful super villains (or wh...

Re: Yozi Theme Contention

I've heard that there's an intent to focus more on demons than the Yozis that they compose.  It's off to a good start, too, since Octavian is "only" a second circle, but can potentially dismember Ahlat, who is a directional war god. This is what I'm hoping for too.  More focus on Liger an...

Re: BrilliantRain Reads Ex3

Thanks dude, but like I said; I do understand how it works. And objectively I think it's an ingenious system that does what it sets out to do, it's just the whole withering vs decisive thing just feels wrong to me. It's a thing of beauty, but I've got an old fashioned brain :] In fact I kept trying...

Yozi Theme Contention

As we round the bend and remember that Infernals are years upon years off for the new edition of Exalted, I thought that it might be worth taking stock of how individual assumptions of what each Yozi is about, as this changed between first edition's Games of Divinity descriptions (and the later char...

Re: BrilliantRain Reads Ex3

The usual, I imagine. I was all around terrible at Exalted 2.0 with people having to help me every step of the way when it came to combat, the new system is not any easier for me to parse. It is a kind of crazy backwards HP system.  Instead of having a set value for any given engagement, it varies ...

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

Dinosaur : Hopefully my rally isn't an empty call into the void. ;) I think most of us hold out hopes that 3e's Lunars will finally be something that truly captures the imagination. 1e and 2e had their strengths, even with Lunars, but it was always despite other material. Alas. The hopes tend to be...

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

See, when you say "echo chamber"... I've not stopped dropping by over the years, so if things pick up here, I'll post more often, too. As most people could probably imagine, I do get a bit hot under the collar about both prior editions of Lunars, though, since in the end, 2e was also a was...

Re: Third Edition is Here! (No, Really!)

I kind of hope they get a whole subsystem. Normal Combat With More Numbers has never really tempted me towards giant robot fights. Which I like in principle but have little interest in, in practice. EDIT - Wow... excitement about speculative Exalted rules, haven't felt that in a while. It's possibl...

Though, just given the text of the Artifact background, we know that they're going to have their own narrative gravity as Artifact N/A. We just don't know how high the ceiling is above Volcano Cutter.

Re: Third Edition is Here! (No, Really!)

I've been adjusting old characters and backgrounds to the setting changes slowly and slightly, since the leak. Now that I have a book in hand, though, it's a process that moves faster. The Lunar changes are a definite breath of fresh air, even if a lot of people seem to find them overly destructive ...

Re: Third Edition is Here! (No, Really!)

At least Chejop is doing is job instead of browsing Steam this time. It's come up as the opinions of others, but I'll also chime in and say that the book in print is much easier on the eyes than the book on pdf. I used the backer coupon to get a premium color copy, and it's a lot easier to read and ...

Re: Some questions bout 3E

Also, the objective time taken up by each round can vary. The game does not feature exact long ticks, but does note that cutting an army to bits might take a bit longer than attacking one target.

Re: EX 3e: Immaculates and Exigents

That seems like an incredibly dangerous gambit in the face of established Anathema-stealing-celestial-power precedent and the non-intuitive nature of a waypoint on the path to ultimate spiritual union with immense elemental beings being the stars. It wouldn't be the first time, what with the Usurpa...

Re: Your new character concepts?

Well for starters, it turns out that to be a sorcerer-engineer, you must first be a sorcerer. Who knew, right? (^VVVVVVVV^) Other substantial changes involve the world around the characters having to make room for a world where not just anyone can learn to, say, be an exorcist. Among the characters ...

Re: EX 3e: Immaculates and Exigents

I thought the line of reasoning was that the Anathema stole the power of the heavens for evil, nefarious purposes. Exaltation by theft, in essence. Which come to think of it is just a thief-ier version of Exigents and God-Blooded, in that ne'er the twain shall meet between the mortal and the divine...

Re: EX 3e: Immaculates and Exigents

My assumption, based partially on a vague memory of a dev quote somewhere, is that the Exigents are treated much like the God-Blooded. They're officially the result of unnatural congress between the divine and the mortal but they aren't automatically kill on sight like the ancient demon Anathema ar...
