Re: Yozi Theme Contention

I've heard that there's an intent to focus more on demons than the Yozis that they compose.  It's off to a good start, too, since Octavian is "only" a second circle, but can potentially dismember Ahlat, who is a directional war god. This is what I'm hoping for too.  More focus on Liger an...

Re: BrilliantRain Reads Ex3

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds 3E combat frustrating >_> I mean, I do understand it, from a thematic and [somewhat] mechanical stand point, it does make sense. In fact I'd call it brilliant. No sarcasm, I think it's ingenious.  But It also feels super forced to me.  Just It's amazing But L...

Re: BrilliantRain Reads Ex3

The usual, I imagine. I was all around terrible at Exalted 2.0 with people having to help me every step of the way when it came to combat, the new system is not any easier for me to parse. You might enjoy reading this.   It's a tutorial someone wrote about the 3e combat system and I found it very u...

I wouldn't mind seeing more though admittedly my grasp of 2.0 and 2.5 are fairly tenuous so 3.0 doesn't make all that much sense.

What sorts of issues are you having with 3e?

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

Hey guys - apologies for not dropping in sooner. Life kind of ate my face, and my free time to game. Since we last spoke, I've changed jobs, married Kailan, and bought a house -- just to give you some idea. There were also some mental health issues wrapped up in there, but I won't bore you with the...

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

Honestly, I think what we really need is people who are prepared to comment on stuff.  If you're new to Exalted, you should take a look at the story subforums, Whirlwind Novel Writing Method and Sagacious Writing of Intent and just do some reading and, if you liked it, comment on some of them. That ...

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

I'm not sure we need to move all the old threads away. Yes, we want more traffic, obviously, but, if we move away all the old threads, we're losing all of our existing content and then looking like we're a brand new forum. I don't think new people are necessarily going to flock to a random new forum...

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

That was a volunteer only poll, so it's hard to be sure about the accuracy of its results. That said, I can totally get behind a warm and positive experience here. Depending on how things develop we might need more moderating to keep that tone though. As for content, I know there are a few Exalted w...

Re: Return of the Freedom Stone

I too still check by here periodically. But we'll need more people. Maybe we could do a bit of cross promoting on other forums? Also, if some of the fan fic authors started writing again that might attract more attention? I've been considering doing some Exalted fic myself. I'll try and post it here...

Re: Third Edition is Here! (No, Really!)

I suspect it'll be more like the whole tag thing and that being in a Warstrider lets you ignore the Legendary Size Merit and get access to a suite of highly dangerous Evocations

Re: Third Edition is Here! (No, Really!)

I've started running a game and am almost done with a character for another game that a friend is going to run.

And, while the base concepts are similar, there's a lot of new stuff in the way things are put together. I haven't run any Exalt on Exalt combat yet, but I expect it to be interesting.

Re: Some questions bout 3E

Ok, I think I understand now. Thanks for explaining. I agree that the rules don't specify exactly what happens here, but, in 3e, there are a whole bunch of edge cases that the rules don't cover and individual tables are expected to be able to figure things out for themselves. In this case, I'd let t...

Re: Some questions bout 3E

For someone to persuade you to do something, they need to invoke one of your intimacies. This is true regardless of whether you've already been persuaded or not. So, if you they don't have an argument that triggers one of your intimacies, then they're gonna have to do some Instill actions to create ...

Re: Some questions bout 3E

You can't move while taking an Aim action. So the way it works is like this: Archer is at long range and has surprise and spends the requisite aim time out of combat. JB is rolled when the arrow is fired. Round 1: Archer shoots you and moves back 1 band. Now at Extreme range. You give chase. Now at ...

Something else to note is that you can only move one range band per turn, unless you are Rushing or Disengaging.

Ah, intimacies. Ok, looks good so far. Good to define a couple types of intimacies and generate a baseline for writing them. Everyone has a Tie of Peleps Deled (Hatred). Especially Peleps Deled. Hmmm... I wonder what my Defining Intimacies would be. Probably a bit different than I'd think, if I'm be...

Supernatural Merits Going to build some Fruit Bat Beastmen. I looked for giant spiders in the antagonists section, but didn't see them. I think these merits might be of use there. I'll need to give the Antagonists section a thorough going over. Flaws look good. The Derangements are sufficiently simi...

Merits Looks good on the general notes Boundless Endurance is a two point non-variable merit. There aren't any circumstances where it should cost 9 points. So...huh? Liking Story though. Nice to see it explicitly stated that, if you get an Artifact in play, you don't have to pay xp for it. I hope th...
