Hit ‘Em With a Rock Style Martial Arts [2e] [total joke]

21 Sep 2006, 14:10

Hit ‘Em With a Rock Style Martial Arts
Terrestrial Style
Form Weapons: Only unarmed and improvised weapons (including when thrown).
Armor: Not allowed.
Charms in Hit ‘Em With a Rock Style may only be used by characters with an intelligence below 2.
Though a Terrestrial Style, some Lunars have made terrifying use of this style.
Hit ‘Em With a Rock Style has no elemental association, and never costs a mote surcharge.

Idiot Strength
Cost: see text; Mins: Martial Arts 1, Essence 1; Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: None
When worked up, you get that crazy-strength going on; unfortunately you also tend to hurt yourself in the process. For every level of bashing damage you willingly take as part of an unarmed martial arts attack you add +2 to the base damage of the attack. The attack also inflicts lethal damage, so long as you spend at least 1 bashing level.

Buh?
Cost: 2m; Mins: Martial Arts 2, Essence 1; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Social
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: None
At times, being unable to understand someone can be an advantage. This charm is a perfect defense against a single normal social attack. It has no affect on unnatural mental influence.

Arm Like a Club
Cost: 5m; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 1; Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Buh?, Idiot Strength
Swinging your arm, or whatever happens to be close enough to use as a weapon, in a big lumering arc you catch your foe by surprise. An unarmed martial arts attack enhanced with this charm uses Strength + Martial Arts to hit, instead of Dexterity + Martial Arts.

Hit ‘Em With a Rock Form
Cost: 6m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Simple (Speed 5, DV -2)
Keywords: Form-type
Duration: One Scene
Prerequisite Charms: Arm Like a Club
After incoherently flipping out for a few seconds, you rush toward whatever foe you face with nearly primal strength. All unarmed martial arts attacks you make while in this Form deal lethal damage. In addition, you may soak lethal damage with your full stamina and no longer suffer the normal -3 accuracy penalty for using an improvised weapon.

Duuuh...
Cost: 2m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Hit ‘Em With a Rock Form
Perhaps you are massively tough, or just too stupid to know you are hurt; either way you resist damage quite well. Activating this charm adds the character’s essence in bashing and lethal soak against one attack. This charm stacks with all other soak-increasing effects but not itself.

Smash!
Cost: 1m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2; Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Hit ‘Em With a Rock Form
Like a tree-trunk (in many ways) you strike out an your enemies. A successful unarmed martial arts attack enhanced with this charm automatically knocks the target back (Strength x2) yards (see Exalted: page 153 for knockback rules). No additional damage is inflicted.

Graaah!
Cost: 2m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2; Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Smash!
You hit your enemy like boulder. An unarmed martial arts attack enhanced with this charm automatically stuns the target (see Exalted: page 153) if it hits (no damage need be rolled).

I Hit ‘Em With a Rock!
Cost: 3m, 1w; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2; Type: Simple (Speed 3, DV -2)
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Duuuh..., Graaah!
Despite the name you do not necessarily hit them with a rock, but you do hit them with whatever is handy (even if that is just your hand). You make a single unarmed martial arts attack against a target. The attack is unblockable, and ignores armor soak and hardness.

I can so see an Earth Immaculate learning this style to supplemts his Immaculate MA, saying that it resembles the "primal fury of the Earth Dragon" when really, he just likes to break stuff.

Total joke or no, this Style rocks! (Um, no pun intended.) It does the whole "UNGAAAH! THOG SMASH!" thing quite well.

Thanks! I guess even if it was intended as a joke it could be used...

I dunno. It's not very sportsmanlike, is it?

Seriously though, nice style. I think that it will be seeing some use in my game....

That was exactly the reference I was thinking of when I wrote this.
"How I almost got him"

So, was mine too subtle, or did you just feel that the Princess Bride reference was incorrect?
